Discovery Park
3336 Edgington Street
Discovery Park, formerly known as Pine Park, was acquired by the Park District in 1999 and renovated in 2003-2004. Its re-grand opening was held on October 18, 2003.
In the Summer of 2022, the Park District of Franklin Park was awarded an Earth Day in the Parks Grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The program promotes stewardship of natural resources by involving Illinois school children in activities such as planting native trees and wildflowers. The Park District used the grant money to establish a Pollinator Garden at Discovery Park, 3336 Edgington Street, located next to School District 84’s North Elementary School. This garden is now used to teach students and summer camps the importance of plants and flowers.
