1. Learn Valuable Skills
Our managers take the time to teach lifeguards the knowledge of rescue techniques and pool procedures. Each guard is trained and certified in first aid and CPR. Concepts learned while lifeguarding are valuable in real-life scenarios. Lifeguards learn valuable lifelong skills that can serve as resume boosters when applying to other jobs. The Pool on Pacific is a comfortable, safe environment that helps develop leadership and conflict resolution abilities.
2. Work Outside
It’s summer after all isn’t it? You can get paid to work outside in the sun! Joining our lifeguard staff allows you to be outdoors while you learning, assisting pool patrons and exercising during training. You will return to school in the fall with a great tan. We all need some Vitamin D, but make sure you apply sunscreen! Safety first!
3. Help Others
One of the most rewarding feelings of being a lifeguard is knowing that you have helped someone. Whether that be during a save, providing first aid or customer service, helping others is what lifeguards do. If you are interested in pursuing a career as a first responder or medical professional, lifeguarding will help you gain great experience in assisting others.
4. Flexible Hours
If you are in summer classes, working another job or internship, or have a vacation planned, the Pool on Pacific provides flexible hours. Our managers are more than willing to work with you to accommodate your schedule. We know summer is a busy season for everyone.

There is no better way to make new friends than working at the Pool on Pacific! Lifeguards go through trainings and shifts together and share a special bond through it all. You will meet people from the neighborhood or school that you might have not known before! Lifeguarding is a great chance to build lifelong relationships.
