The month of February is recognized as American Heart Month (Heart Health Awareness). With heart disease being the leading cause of death in the United States, we understand the importance of having a healthy heart. Health and wellness is a pillar of parks and recreation and we are taking on the responsibility to act as a resource and promote healthy hearts in our community.
The Park District of Franklin Park will be participating in National Wear Red Day on February 5 to kick off this important month. We encourage you to join us in wearing red to show your support for heart health.
Throughout the month of February we will also be sharing heart health tips, resources and how you can improve your heart health right here at the Park District. We encourage you to adopt these heart-healthy behaviors because #OurHearts our healthier when we work together!
