February is recognized as American Heart Month. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, and we want to emphasize the importance of having a healthy heart. Health and wellness is a pillar of parks and recreation and we are taking on the responsibility to act as a resource and promote healthy hearts in our community.
The Park District of Franklin Park is participating in National Wear Red Day on February 4 to help spread heart health awareness. We encourage you to join us in wearing red to show your support for heart health.
Throughout the month of February we will be sharing healthy heart tips, resources and how you can improve your heart health right here at the Park District. We encourage you to adopt these heart-healthy behaviors because #OurHearts our healthier when we work together!
