The Park District of Franklin Park is pleased to announce the return of the Annual Eddie Biondo Fall Fest Parade. This longstanding Franklin Park tradition will march for the 43rd time on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 1-2 p.m. The parade did not march last fall due to the pandemic.
Eddie Biondo was the parade’s grand marshal for over 30 years, leading the vent to be named in his honor. The Biondo family and their neighbors are still active in the annual celebration with Biondo’s grandchildren leading the parade.
Floats and groups participating in the parade line up at noon. The parade starts at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Scott Street, heads east on Grand, then north on 25th Avenue and ends at Addison Avenue and Scott Street by North Park. Immediately following the parade, the Park District’s Pumpkin Fest will take place at North Park from 2-4 p.m.
The day provides plenty of excitement for the community from floats, marching bands and local organizations to pumpkin carving and painting. If any groups or organizations are interested in participating in this year’s Eddie Biondo Fall Fest Parade, entry forms can be found online or call (847) 455-2852.
