As many residents and patrons know, the Park District of Franklin Park has five rooftop beehives on the Centre at North Park. This effort is part of Project Aurelius, the Park District’s team to help increase pollinator protection.
What is the Park District going to do with all the honey? With help from our Summer Camp and Park District Staff, we filled up jars of honey. The community can purchase different honey jar sizes at the Community Center & North Park front desk. Jars are available while supplies last until our next honey harvest. A 16 oz jar sells for $16 and a 32 oz jar for $32.
All proceeds go toward the Parks Foundation of Franklin Park. The Parks Foundation provides financial assistance for recreational opportunities for in-district residents dealing with financial hardship.
