The Summer sun doesn’t melt our ice! The Ice Arena is actually a very busy place in June and July. We run both a Skating and Hockey camp during the day, in addition to our instructional classes, clinics and adult leagues that take place in the evening.
We offer two Summer Skating Camps; one for our Tot thru Gamma Skaters and one for Delta thru Freestyle skaters. Both are 3-day camps taking place on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday where skaters participate in on-ice classes as well as off-ice conditioning and dance classes to improve their strength and agility. Skaters also get to try things like synchronized skating and ice dancing that they might not normally be exposed to during the regular skating season. Campers particularly enjoy learning a choreographed group number and some solo routines to be performed at the annual end-of-camp exhibition.
Our School’s Out Hockey Camp takes place Monday, Wednesday & Friday and is also split into two groups; Jr. Panther and Gold Mite camp (ages 5-8) and Squirt camp (ages 9 &10). Both camps keep players feet moving over the summer months, as there is no league play during this time. They also get to take part in specialized skills clinics and are exposed to all types of game situations during on-ice scrimmages. Our School’s Out campers work to build their endurance, strength and agility during off-ice conditioning classes, both indoors and out.
Our goal is for all skaters to see improvement at the end of their 8 week camp and it takes hard work to get there but we always make sure they’re having fun in the process! Campers also get to enjoy trips to Ruby & Addison Park and our Pool on Pacific as part of their weekly routine.
